Onfroy was born in Florida to Jamaican parents and was raised by his grandmother. He attended Margate Middle School but was later expelled, leading him to enroll into Sheridan House Family Ministries by his mother. He later attended Piper High School, but ultimately dropped out in the tenth grade.
2013-2016

In 2013, Onfroy’s song “News/Flock” was released. During this time, Onfroy started to record music with the help of a Blue Snowball microphone. His first song under the XXXTentacion moniker was “Vice City,” as released on SoundCloud. Around this time, Onfroy joined Ski Mask The Slump God’s group Very Rare, although he later left to develop the Members Only collective, which Ski Mask would later join. In 2014, he released his first official extended play, The Fall; he also released one collaboration album with Ski Mask The Slump God, called Members Only Vol. 1 before releasing Members Only Vol. 2 in 2015 with several members of the Members Only collective. In 2016, he released the EP Willy Wonka Was a Child Murderer.
2017-Present
In 2017, Onfroy released more of his new songs on SoundCloud. The same year also saw the release of his debut album 17 and the mixtape I Need Jesus. During this time, he announced he would go on tour, titled “The Revenge Tour,” which had 26 tour dates overall. After being named the tenth pick on the XXL “2017 Freshman Class” list, he also released his major-label debut commercial project Revenge. As the year went on, he also released his first official music video for his 2016 song “Look at Me!” and the 2015 song “Riot.” By 2018, he also branched out to sharing gaming videos and vlogs on his official YouTube page. His first single of the year was “Shining Like The Northstar.” The same year, he also released his second album, whose title was stylized as ?. On June 18, 2018, he lost his life during an incident in which he was shot in Miami.
