Rebekah Vardy, otherwise known as Becky Vardy, is the wife of Leicester City and England national team striker Jamie Vardy. During the 2018 World Cup, Becky was hired as a VAR expert for betting company Bet Bright. VAR, otherwise known as video assistant referee, is like the soccer version of instant replay.
In addition to being married to Jamie Vardy, Vardy is known for her appearances on Loose Women and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. Her husband Jamie is an English national footballer who plays for Leicester City in the Premier League.
Vardy began his senior career with Stocksbridge Park Steels in 2007. Vardy spent three seasons with Stocksbridge before joining the Northern Premier League club F.C. Halifax Town in 2010. In 2011, Vardy moved to the Conference Premier club Fleetwood Town in August 2011. He scored 31 goals in his first season with Fleetwood Town. In May 2012, Vardy signed for Leicester City — who were in the Championship at the time — for a non-League record transfer fee of $1 million. Leicester won the Championship in 2014, earning promotion to the Premier League for the 2015-16 season.
During the 2015-2016 season, he scored in eleven consecutive Premier League matches and was voted the Premier League Player of the Season as he led Leicester City to their first-ever Premier League title. Vardy made his international debut with the Three Lions of England in June 2015 and was selected for UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Jamie will not be the only one in the Vardy household with a professional commitment to the 2018 World Cup in Russia as his wife Rebekah has been hired as a VAR consultant.
Vardy is not your traditional English football, as he had admitted to not exercising in a gym, consumes Red Bull, and used snus smokeless tobacco. Jamie and Rebekah have two children together: Sofia and Finley.
