College bars are as essential to the college experience as the student themselves. The cheap drinks, the shitty bathrooms, the bouncers who let people in the back door, the random hook-ups, the fights, the outrageously attractive bartenders, the 2 a.m. hail marys — all the things that make the college experience memorable likely happen
This week we feature Penn State‘s favorite watering hole, Primanti Brothers, an establishment at the State College-based school since 1933. Open early on game days and late on every other night of the week, Primanti Brothers (or simply “PMan’s” to Penn State students) is the university’s premier bar. The drink specials are the best deals on campus, bar none (see what I did there?): Happy Hour is every night of the week from 10 to 12 p.m., serving $2 mind erasers and $4 double drinks.
But while “PMan’s” may be State College’s favorite bar, that’s not what the establishment is mainly known for, as Primanti Brothers is actually is a Pennsylvania-wide chain that is known for slinging sandwichs more than anything else.
