Maia-Jena Allo will take the stage at the Miss USA competition representing Miss Vermont USA 2018. The 20-year-old Colchester native succeeded 2017 winner Madison Trimbey Cota and is aiming to be the first Miss Vermont USA to hear her name called as a Miss USA semi-finalist since Georgia Marie Davis back in 1982.
When she’s not in beauty pageants, you can find Allo falling from the sky as a professional skydiver. She has completed more than 200 skydives and is working to be a pro-rated skydiver.
With her platform as Miss Vermont USA, Allo hopes “to inspire young people coming from unfortunate circumstances to pursue careers in unique fields such as extreme sports.”
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
The journey to Miss USA has been a long road, but a magical one. I am often asked how skydiving and Miss USA fit together. And in my final preparations before heading to Louisiana, Carlos Velez captured this shot. To me, it shows my confidence, strength, resilience, and ability to look fear right in the eye, all in one photo. I am walking into the competition knowing who I am, what I stand for, and showcasing that being passionate about what you do shines through, giving true meaning to confidently beautiful. • • • @carlosvelezstudios @victoriadukebeauty @prpageantcoaches @missusa @stefaniesomers @missvtusa #missusa #missvtusa #missvermontusa #missuniverse #roadtomissusa #roadtothecrown #gdbpageantproductions #confidentlybeautiful #ActivelyUndaunted #skydiver #firstlicensedskydiver #shatterglassceilings
