Madison Nipe will be representing Miss South Dakota USA 2018 at the upcoming Miss USA pageant. The 21-year-old Madison native succeeded 2017 winner Tessa Elizabeth Dee to win the crown. She is hoping to become just the second-ever Miss South Dakota USA to reach the Top 10 of the Miss USA pageant, joining 2016 winner Madison McKeown. Nipe is currently a junior at the University of South Dakota where she majors in Biology with the hopes of eventually attending dental school. On campus, Nipe stays active as the president of the Biology Club, vice president of the Pre-Dental Club, and student ambassador for Sorority and Fraternity Life.
Madison is also active in the community, where she mentors a young girl as part of the Big Pal Little Pal program while also packing meals for children in the area through the Backpack Program.
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
