Laine Alden Mansour will be competing in the upcoming Miss USA pageant as the reigning Miss Mississippi USA 2018. The 21-year-old Tupelo native succeeded 2017 winner Ashley Marie Hamby, and will be looking to be the first Top 10 finisher for Mississippi since Breanne Ponder, who finished in eighth place in 2010. Currently a student at the University of Mississippi, she is working on a degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications and plans to obtain her Law Degree to practice family law.
Mansour’s platform is GEM, which stands for Going the Extra Mile.
She hopes to use her platform as Miss Mississippi USA, and potentially Miss USA, “to helping young girls reach new heights in their confidence, health, and personal life goals.”
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
