Kelley Johnson is the reigning Miss California USA 2018 and will represent her home state at the upcoming Miss USA pageant. The 25-year-old Hermosa Beach native succeeded 2017 winner India Williams, who finished in the Top 10. Johnson, who was previously Miss Colorado 2015 and second runner-up to Miss America 2016, is looking to keep California’s strong tradition going. California has reached the Top 15 in 11 of the past 13 years, with five top-five finishes and Alyssa Campanella winning Miss USA 2011.
Johnson was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Grand View University and is a full-time Doctoral student. She will graduate next year as a Family Nurse Practioner and is currently an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse.
Johnson has made appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, E! News, Fox News, while also giving keynote speeches across the country.
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
