Elizabeth Johnson is the reigning Miss Michigan USA 2018 and will represent her home state at the Miss USA pageant this year. The 25-year-old native of Detroit succeeded 2017 winner Krista Lauren Ferguson. She is aiming to give Michigan its first Top 10 finisher since Rima Fakih in 2010, who actually won the Miss USA crown. She graduated from Michigan State with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Media Management, and currently holds a job at Shift Digital as a Digital Consultant for Mercedes-Benz.
Johnson spends her free time volunteering as a mentor to young girls at a local organization called Vista Maria, which delivers innovative care, support, treatment, and education to vulnerable youth so that they heal, believe in their worth, and build the skills needed to succeed.
While using her platform as Miss Michigan USA and potentially Miss USA, Johnson “not only would champion the #TimesUp initiative in bringing equality to men and women in the workplace, she would also like to spotlight the human sex trafficking epidemic within our country.”
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
