Deneen Penn is the reigning Miss Ohio USA 2018 and set to compete in the upcoming Miss USA competition. The 20-year-old Cortland native succeeded 2017 winner Dinaleigh Baxter. She looks to be the first Top 10 finisher for Miss Maine USA since Kristin Marie Smith in 2013. Penn is currently a junior in college and working towards her Master of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Architecture.
Penn is an advocate for local businesses and has launched The Worker Bee program which helps young, aspiring entrepreneurs build successful companies. She is also an entrepreneur of her own, founding Queen Bee Honey which produces and sells all organic honey.
Penn’s goal if she wins Miss USA 2018 is to “highlight this program to a wider audience and helping empower today’s youth to have the tools they need to build tomorrow’s future.”
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
