Callie Bishop is the current Miss Wyoming 2018 and will be representing her home state at the upcoming Miss USA pageant. The 28-year-old Laramie native succeeded 2017 winner Mikaela Shaw. Bishop, who was previously Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2008, could become the first Miss Wyoming to win the Miss USA crown.
She earned her BA in Theatre in Dance from the University of Wyoming and currently serves as a yoga teacher.
Bishop, who lost her father in May and nearly lost her own life two months after winning the Miss Wyoming crown, now wants to put her energy towards living life in a larger, more meaningful way. Bishop had been rushed to the emergency room after blood clots were found in her lungs and left arm.
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
