Allissa Latham is the reigning Miss Massachusetts USA 2018 and will be representing her home state at the upcoming Miss USA competition. The 27-year-old Lowell native succeeded 2017 winner Julia Scaparotti, a New England Patriots cheerleader. Latham is aiming to become the first Miss Massachusetts USA winner to finish in the Top 10 since Jackie Bruno in 2008 and could become the first from her state to win the Miss USA competition since Susie Castillo in 2003, a former Miss Universe semifinalist and Miss Massachusetts Teen USA.
Latham currently works at Lowell General Hospital as an Integration Architect for Cerner Corporation. Sheis also pursuing her MBA with a concentration in Health Care from Suffolk University in Boston.
She hopes to use her platform as Miss Massachusetts USA “to shine light on issues such as financial literacy, gaps in healthcare, and funding programs for at-risk youth.”
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
