Carolina Urrea will be wearing the Miss Nevada USA 2018 crown during the upcoming Miss USA pageant. The 23-year-old Las Vegas native, who is of Colombian and Mexican descent, dethroned 2017 Lauren York, also of Las Vegas, for the crown. Outside of the pageant world, Urrea models for high-profile brands like Forever 21, Nordstroms, Target, CVS, Sephora, Ulta Beauty.
Urrea uses her platform to “inspire others who are facing homelessness (especially children) that no matter what today looks like, tomorrow can be better and brighter.”
She chose that cause because she experienced homelessness herself as a child. She is also an advocate of the Nevada partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), going all-in to provide hope to those who feel hopeless and find themselves in a similar situation that she was once in. Urrea is the perfect example of working hard and spreading generosity to accomplish the American Dream.
Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
