Billie Jo Powers is one of the Tecate models and ring girls that you will see promoting the beer brand during major boxing events like Gennady Golovkin vs. Vanes Martirosyan’s “Mexican Style 2” event on Saturday, May 5 at the Stubhub Center in Carson, Calif. The North Huntingdon native left the Pittsburgh area to pursue modeling and pageants where she found incredible success.
Immediately following high school, Powers was finding herself featured in magazines, calendars, and various advertisements. She was also named Miss Swimsuit USA International, first runner-up Miss Pennsylvania USA, and Most Photogenic Miss Pennsylvania USA.
Now, she consistently finds herself ringside during the biggest boxing events the combat sports world has to offer.
“It all began as a fluke thing,” she told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I became involved in a modeling competition with Model America at the Pittsburgh Sport and Fitness Expo when I was 18. I won the Model America competition, and this set the stage for pursuing my modeling career. The further I went and the more success I found, the more I thought, ‘Maybe I could do this.'”
After catching her big break, she never looked back.
According to her online bio, Power “has been featured on Sports Illustrated and Fox Sports, has endorsed numerous fitness products, has been featured as the principal role in music videos and commercials including the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series commercial shown on FOX. She is also one of the most popular ring girls inside the ropes for some of the biggest fights in boxing history.”
