Nia Jax is WWE’s “irrestiable force” who leaves a path of destruction everywhere she goes. She’s also a former plus model who can be quite beautiful when she isn’t scaring the crap out of people. Jax is a superstar of WWE Monday Night Raw where she has been very dominant, imposing her will on the very unlucky women who dare get in her way.
Her real name is Savelina Fanene. Ms. Fanene’s ancestry is a mixture of Samoan and German descent. She was born on May 29, 1984, in Sydney, Australia. But she was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Before Fanene made her way to the WWE, she was a college basketball player at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. She was also a plus-sized model before she transitioned to a career in professional wrestling (as previously mentioned).
In early 2014, Fanene signed a deal with WWE. She made her official debut under the ring name Zada on May 7, 2015, at a NXT house show. By August 2015, Fanene adopted the name of “Nia Jax.” She never won a title while wrestling on WWE’s developmental brand NXT, but she sure did kick a lot of ass.
Jax was called up to the main roster during the 2016 WWE Draft, where she was drafted from NXT to Monday Night Raw. She quickly rose to the top of the division, picking up win after win against her most unlucky opponents. She defeated the likes of Alicia Fox, “The Boss” Sasha Banks and many others. At WrestleMania 33, Jax competed in a fatal four-way elimination match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. Unfortunately, Jax wasn’t able to walk away with the championship that night since she was eliminated by all three of her opponents working together to pin her down to the mat. That’s right, Nia Jax is just that tough!
What’s next for Nia Jax? Possibly a reign with either the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Championships.
