Yana Kunitskaya is a Russian mixed martial artist in the UFC Featherweight division. Yana was born in Murmansk, Russia on November 11, 1989. She started MMA back in 2009 and took a time off in 2012, and made her return four years later. She tapped Tonya Evinger out on November 18, 2016, only to have the win overturned by a weird referee call. She lost the rematch, won the vacant Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship by defeating Raquel Pa’aluhi on August 31, 2017, and is now making her (Featherweight) debut at UFC 222. She’s still a comparatively young 28 for women’s bantamweight with room for growth and a decent amount of skill.
Kunitskaya is scheduled to make her UFC debut on March 3, 2018, against Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino at UFC 222 for the featherweight title. Yana Kunitskaya has 10 wins, 3 losses and 1 no contest, while Cris Cyborg – who is widely considered the best female MMA fighter – has 19 wins, 1 loss and 1 no contest. Justino dispatched one of her greatest threats in years — former bantamweight champion Holly Holm, at UFC 219 in Las Vegas. The oddsmakers have Cyborg at -1,800 and Kunitskaya +850.
