Julie Ertz is a United States national team soccer player and the wife of Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz. Ertz, 25, is currently a midfielder for the United States women’s national soccer team as well as the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League. Ertz played every minute of all seven games of the 2015 World Cup.
Ertz played college soccer at Santa Clara University before being selected third overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2014 NWSL College Draft. After moving to center midfield for club and country in 2017, Ertz was awarded US Soccer Female Player of the Year.
Julie met her husband, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, while attending a Stanford Cardinal baseball game. On February 26, 2016, the couple got engaged at the same baseball stadium where they met and got married on March 26, 2017, in Goleta, California.
