Welcome to National Chocolate Day, people! Get some chocolate while you still can because people eating more chocolate faster than what’s being made in factories. According to popsci.com, in about 20 years, if people continue down the super sweet path then chocolate will become a delicacy comparable to caviar.

Chocolate is a very old form of food, candy, and drink. Chocolate drink was introduced as early as 1750 BCE by the pre-Olmec people on the Gulf Coast of Veracruz, Mexico. The sweet treat wasn’t discovered by Europeans until the 16th century when that dastardly Christopher Columbus came across the cacao bean on his fourth trip to the Americas (August 15, 1502).
Wow. So, chocolate is a product of colonialism. I wonder if anyone is going to protest chocolate now…
