As he began to flourish into an NBA Star, Carmelo Anthony went on a scoring tear and averaged 23.6 points per game for the next 11 seasons. These would be the years that would eventually define the career of Carmelo Anthony. Within these seasons, Carmelo Anthony was a fantastic franchise player for the Denver Nuggets. After his second year, Anthony played another four seasons with Denver in which he averaged 26.5, 28.9, 25.7 and 22.8 PPG. Along with his scoring accomplishments, Carmelo Anthony led the 2009 Denver Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals where the team feel short to Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

2011-2017

In 2011 Carmelo Anthony would find himself at the center of a paramount trade that would send him to his new home, New York. After the New York Knicks welcomed their new star player, the city was ecstatic to see where their team was headed. With a core of Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire, the New York Knicks appeared to be destined for great seasons to come. For the first year, The Knicks had a 36-30 record and were qualifiers for the NBA Playoffs as they made the sixth seed. The second year, the Knicks won 54 games and were one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, making the number 4 seed. The years proceeding began the demise of the franchise. From personal issues within the locker room to players not being able to perform in games; it was clear that the Knicks had difficulty winning. The 2013 season, the New York Knicks won 37 games under Mike Woodson. The following seasons, they won 17, 32 and 31 games.

2017-Present

An immense blemish on Carmelo Anthony’s career is the fact that he has not won a championship. With this in mind, Carmelo Anthony requested a trade to go to the Houston Rockets. Here, he would team up with James Harden and Chris Paul and form a new “super team”. Playing for this team would give Carmelo Anthony a star studded supporting cast to assist him in the Western Conference.
