Gail Kim is one fine 40-year-old wrestler who has led a legendary career in the ring. She a former WWE Women’s Champion, as well as a former 6-time TNA Knocksout Champion. In 2016, Kim was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame after eight amazing years with the company.
Kim was first introduced to a global audience back in the summer of 2003. On her very first night on WWE Monday Night Raw, Kim won the WWE Women’s Championship in a seven-women over-the-top-rope battle royal.
Unfortunately, her first night in the WWE would also prove to be the most successful. This Canadian-born athlete faded to the background for much of her stay with the pro wrestling giant. Kim set her focus down south to a promising new promotion formerly-known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
While employed by the Nashville based wrestling promotion, Kim paved a phenomenal career for herself. She was so successful in TNA that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Family said that Kim was unquestionably one of the best female performers of all-time. Mick said that the Hall of Fame “wouldn’t be complete” without including Gail Kim.
During her second run with WWE, she was labelled as “smart, sexy and powerful.”
Too bad WWE didn’t fully capitalize on Kim’s true talents. WWE really dropped the ball on this prize athlete. Good thing TNA knew how to promote this Canadian-born starlet…
TNA has now re-banded itself to Global Force Wrestling (GFW). Kim plans to retire with the company at the end of 2017, as a way “to go out on top in a place she calls home”.
