This Upcoming 'Spider-Man' Game Looks Quite Perfect

E3 is currently underway in Los Angeles and all of the heavyweights of the video game world are bringing their A game. And that includes Insomniac Games.
Insomniac Games, most known for their Playstation exclusives Resistance and Ratchet & Clank, unveiled a 9-minute gameplay video for their upcoming Spider-Man video game and it looks breathtaking.

An extended gameplay trailer and an extra end-of-show tease at Sony’s E3 press conference showed off some of Spider-Man’s abilities, takedowns and (most importantly) wisecracks.

The demo also showed that Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin will be a character, as well as a gang called the Demons, led by Mister Negative, Martin Li. A character called Capt. Watanabe also appears to be the character currently known as Wraith in Marvel’s comics.

Insomniac first revealed its new Spider-Man game at last year’s Sony E3 press conference, saying the footage was running in-game, in-engine on the current, base PS4 technology.

Seeing the resounding success that was the Batman: Arkham series, it’s only natural that Marvel would try to duplicate that success with Spider-Man. Spider-Man, who may be the second most popular superhero in the world behind Batman, is uniquely suited for an open-world video game. Given the ever-growing popularity of shared cinematic universes and Spider-Man’s upcoming introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the perfect time to release a Spider-Man video game is right now.
As a dude who loves both comic books and video games, you’ll catch me copping this the day it comes out, spider-webbing from building to building on the streets of New York City.
