Battle Creek police are responding to a deadly shooting at a business.
Battle Creek Police Department Chief Jim Blocker confirmed Friday morning that at least one person had died from gunfire at Battle Creek Tile & Mosaic Co., Inc. As a result, Battle Creek Central High School is on lockdown.

What Happened?
One person was fatally shot at a Battle Creek business located at 1338 West Michigan Ave., northwest of downtown. The deadly shooting has prompted a lockdown at Battle Creek Central High School.
Superintendent Kim Carter told 24 Hour News 8 that all schools in the area are on lockdown.
The shooting took place at 10:30 A.M. Friday morning at Battle Creek Tile & Mosaic Co., Inc. The victim was a male worker in his 60s and the shooter has not yet been caught. Police say the shooter specifically asked for the victim before shooting him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male who is approximately 5 feet and 6 inches tall. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie, according to police.

Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to the community.
