Is it possible that Christian Bale, one-time Academy Award winner and lifetime best Batman ever, is underrated? I think so.
When conversations about the best actor alive come up, you get Leo, and Hanks, Daniel Day Lewis … but what about Bale? Just look the movies the dude has starred in over the last decade. I challenge you to find me anyone, other than Leo and Hanks, with this kind of filmography. I’m not saying he’s better — I’m just saying he deserves to be in the conversation.
Yeah, Exodus sucked and Knight of Cups was another Terrance Malick pretention-fest, but other than that, there isn’t a single bad movie on this list, and a handful of them are straight BANGERS.
Well, it looks like one of the world’s (top 4) greatest living actors has eyed his next role, as rumors suggest that Bale, Amy Adams, and Steve Carrell are circling Adam McKay’s upcoming biopic about Dick Cheney.
Sources tell Variety that Christian Bale, Steve Carell, and Amy Adams are in talks to star in McKay’s untitled Dick Cheney biopic for Paramount. Sources say Bale is on board to play the former vice president, Carell would portray Donald Rumsfeld, and Adams would play Lynne Cheney.
McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions and Brad Pitt’s Plan B is on board to produce.
McKay will direct from his own screenplay with the studio and producers aiming to shoot the movie in the spring for an awards-season push, similar to “Big Short.” Producers are Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner through Plan B along McKay and his Gary Sanchez partners, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick.
I think it’s safe to say that transforming himself into the infamous Vice President will be enough to earn Bale his second Oscar win.
