With the bad taste of Iron Fist still in fans’ mouths, it may be hard to get yourself hyped about this new teaser for Marvel’s The Defenders. I haven’t seen Iron Fist, so I can’t speak to how bad or not bad it may be, but I can tell you how it has absolutely no bearing on the potential of The Defenders because that show is gonna be lit.
For everything The Avengers may commercialize, The Defenders kind of do the opposite. Just take Daredevil, who breaks major bones with ZERO regard for the enemy’s well-being. Not only are the fight sequences brutal, but they’re always gorgeously choreographed. Just feast your eyes:

Those are movie-quality fight scenes. Those two scenes alone are more intense than anything that’s happened in the dozen Marvel films. And that’s why The Defenders is going to be great. It has all the lore of superheroes with down-to-Earth action.

Set a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil (which was FIRE), vigilantes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team up in New York City to fight a common enemy, The Hand.
The Defenders will premiere exclusively on Netflix August 18, 2017.
