The East Village in New York City is notorious for dive bars, cool record stores, and delicious restaurants, so it’s no surprise that Verameat is located amongst the best of the best.
The tiny jewelry shop is smack dab in the middle of New York University and boasts eclectic style and funky designs. At first glance, you’ll notice beautiful, dainty pieces of jewelry hanging from plaster hands and rings laid out in trays. Yet upon further notice, you’ll realize that the pieces themselves are far from ordinary. A closer look reveals daggers, swords, brains and grenades – things obviously not often associated with jewelry, but nevertheless pretty badass.
Luckily for our Miss COED 2017 finalists, they each received free swag from Verameat – pins to be exact – and they’re pretty awesome. The pins are handcrafted and many are inspired by emojis. You can check out which ones were included in this year’s prize pack in the gallery above. Oh! And be sure to buy one or two… or five for yourself. My motto these days is, “Treat yourself.” For better or for worse.
If you’re located in the New York City area, stop by and say hello at one of Verameat’s locations in the East Village or Brooklyn. Verameat’s owner, Vera Balyura is becoming quite the celeb. The former model was featured in Vogue Italia and now her successful business has clients like Khloe Kardashian and Anna Kendrick. Not bad. Major shoutout to Vera and her team for their generosity.
