Tonight, Beware the Slenderman will make its highly anticipated premiere on HBO. The documentary looks to be both creepy and fascinating, as director Irene Taylor Brodsky delves into the urban myth of the Slenderman.
Beware the Slenderman is centered around a truly horrific incident involving three 12-year-old girls that took place on May 31, 2014 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. In an effort to become proxies of Slenderman, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier lured Payton Leutner into the woods, and they proceeded to stab her 19 times.
Morgan and Anissa believed that Slenderman was real and that he would harm their families if they didn’t kill for him. Thankfully, Payton survived this brutal attack.
