EA Sports Madden NFL had the perfect response to Jerry Jones doubling down on his dubious prediction that Tony Romo, who will be 37 at the start of next season, will one day play in a Super Bowl.
Via the Fort-Worth Star Telegram, this was the Cowboys owner’s foolish remark:
“I really believe that Tony Romo will play in a Super Bowl,” Jones said Tuesday on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan. “Now try that one on. I know that if he’s healthy enough, he’ll be in a Super Bowl. I strongly believe that.”
Just straight up nonsense that he won’t fully commit to Dak Prescott as the QB of the future. Or does he think Romo will make it to the Super Bowl with the Broncos, Texans, Jets or whoever after he gets traded?
Either way, when you get roasted by your league’s signature video game series’s Twitter account, you know you said something stupid.
As for Romo, keep your head up, man. As a Giants fan I’ve enjoyed your constantly coming up short over the years as much as anyone. But from all accounts you’re actually a pretty good guy, and if you’re wearing another jersey next season I’ll be pulling for you.
But you should still probably take Madden up on that offer if you want to win a Super Bowl.
