I’m pretty sure “outerworldly” isn’t actually a a word, but this Olivier Giroud goal is so absurd that I don’t blame the NBC Sports Soccer twitter account for making up a word to describe it. Nothing in the Webster’s dictionary can quite do this “scorpion” back heel volley wonder goal justice.
Also, check out the Crystal Palace defender who hits the dab right as Giroud shoots. I mean if you’re going to be in a highlight that is replayed forever, you might as well get your dab on, right?

Arsenal fans have for years now been telling anyone who will listen that if only they had an elite striker they’d surely win the Premier League for the first time since 2004. But there aren’t too many other strikers in the world who could score a goal like this.After years of them longing for something better, maybe this goal of the season candidate will finally make them appreciate Giroud for all he can do instead of dwelling on his flaws.
