Last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Joe Biden continued to tease us with the possibility that he might be considering a run for the oval office in 2020. Biden told Colbert, “I don’t plan on running again, but to say you know what’s going to happen in four years is just not rational.” He then added, “I can’t see the circumstance in which I’d run, but what I’ve learned a long, long time ago, Stephen, is to never say never.” You can watch the interview below.

This came a few days after Biden jokingly told a CNN reporter, “I’m going to run in 2020.”

So will Joe Biden be running for president in 2020? Well, he sure loves getting us pumped up by the idea of it, but the reality is that you shouldn’t get your hopes up just yet. My best bet is that Biden will not end up running. He’s going to be 77 years old by the time 2020 rolls around. He’s already made two runs for the¬†presidency and the idea of making a third run just seems highly unlikely. I mean look at this guy after he’s out of the White House… All he’s going to want to do is chill with Obama.

Then again, Donald Trump did just become the oldest president ever elected at the ripe old age of 70, and we did see 75-year-old Bernie Sanders give a good go at the election, so perhaps age is just a number to politicians. Maybe Biden will be the same and get ready to go when 2020 rolls through. We can only hope because, if there is one thing that is for certain, it’s that you can’t hate on good ole’ Joe.
