Arna Jonsdottir is more than just a beautiful Icelandic woman with the most Nordic name in the world, she also happens to be Miss Iceland 2015. Jonsdottir was also in the running for Miss Grand International, before the founder Nawat Itsaragrisil told her that she was too fat to compete.
According to Jonsdottir, Itsaragrisil sent her a message essentially telling her to “stop eating breakfast” and to “just eat salad for lunch and drink water every evening before the contest.”
Gotta appreciate a guy who thinks they know what a literally award-winning woman should eat to stay skinny.
Honestly, I’m not too sure what the hell Itsaragrisil was thinking, but Jonsdottir responded in turn by completely dropping out of the contest. Here’s a statement that she made, not that the beautiful Nordic woman needed to give any reasoning for her decision.
If the owner of the contest really wants me to lose weight and doesn’t like me the way I am, then he doesn’t deserve to have me in the Top 10.
Yes, my shoulders are a bit broader than the other girls’ but that is because I was a member of the Icelandic national athletics team and I am proud of that.
Of course, I don’t take these comments to heart, but to do my best then hear this… Personally, I think I’m fine as I am.
She also stated that Miss Grand International would be the last pageant was ever going to run in. Nice work, Nawat. You ruined it for everyone.
