After teasing fans across the globe with a cryptic image yesterday, Rockstar Games has all but confirmed that a new Red Dead Redemption game is on the way. The game developer company tweeted another picture Monday morning which is as Red-Deady as Red Dead gets.
First, the Sunday morning tweet:

There is no doubting that Rockstar Games knows what the f*ck they’re doing. Having launched game such as Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Game is maybe the most successful video game publisher of the last two decades. With Black Friday & Christmas right around the corner, now would be the perfect time for Rockstar to start amping up their marketing machine.
The last time Rockstar announced a new game, Grand Theft Auto V in 2011, they did so in a very similar fashion: dropping a couple of vague hints before releasing a trailer a couple of weeks afterwards.
A Red Dead Redemption sequel has been expected for a while now, especially since the apparent leak of the game’s map. The leak suggested the game would be a prequel and would be set to the east of the last game:
At this point, it’s only a matter of time before Rockstar hits us with a full-blown announcement. With two consecutive tweets, exactly 24 hours apart, I think it’s quite clear that the marketing campaign for the long-awaited addition to the Red Dead franchise is underway.
