HBO’s Silicon Valley is among the funniest shows on television, and the love/hate relationship between programmers Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) and Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) is a big reason why. And today Google paid began its keynote event with a special scene featuring the two programmers doing their usual bickering about the real-life Google event before unveiling its Pixel smartphone.

It has long been suspected that Pied Piper’s corporate rival Hooli was at least somewhat based on Google, but at least in this alternate reality Google exists and Gilfoyle has scored an invite not only to its new beta but also the company’s keynote after-party.

I’m guessing everyone in the tech world is a fan of Silicon Valley so this intro video hit the perfect note for Google today. And I really hope that the next video Google posts is of Larry Page firing his Google co-founder Sergey Brin out of a cannon.
