Steelers vs. Eagles: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

It has been 24 years since the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles both started a season 2-0. That is the case in 2016 as the Pennsylvania teams play for the first time since 2012 on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. The Steelers were expected to be one of the top teams in the whole AFC but the Eagles are surprising experts with their play behind rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. The winner will be 3-0 and well on their way to the playoffs. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Steelers beat up on their division rivals during a 24-16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Ben Roethlisberger is being his high-flying self again with 559 passing yards and six touchdowns over the first two weeks but does have three interceptions. Antonio Brown has 12 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns but the surprise has been DeAngelo Williams. Williams, who gets this week to start again with LeVeon Bell suspended, has 237 rushing yards and two score while adding ten catches for 66 yards. This is a big game for the defense too to see if they can rattle the rookie in Wentz.

The Eagles went to Chicago and beat the Bears 29-14 on Monday night. Wentz has passed for 468 yards and three touchdowns. Jordan Matthews has been the man of the hour for Wentz and company with 13 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Mathews has been solid on the ground with 109 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the season. Can the Eagles defense slow down Big Ben, though? They just dealt with Jay Cutler and the Bears but the Steelers are a much different animal. If they can play up to expectations at home, Philadelphia may get to that elusive 3-0 record before their bye week.
