Panthers vs. Vikings: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

Some games get the attention of people more than others. This Week 3 battle between the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers is one of those games because of how the two teams have played this season. The Vikings are undefeated at 2-0 while the Panthers are 1-1 but lost by just one point. While Minnesota has injury issues, they are still a very dangerous team while Carolina wants to get back to the Super Bowl after last year’s failure. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Vikings opened their new stadium with a 17-14 win over the Green Bay Packers with Sam Bradford now under center. Bradford threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns in the win last week and now may have to play without Adrian Peterson, who has a torn meniscus. Peterson has just 50 rushing yards on 31 carries this season but may miss this game. Stefon Diggs is dominating the pass game with 16 catches for 285 yards and a touchdown. The defense has scored twice already this year and could give Cam Newton fits all afternoon even on the road.

The Panthers won 46-27 over the San Francisco 49ers as the offense picked it up in a big way. Newton has 547 yards passing, five touchdowns and two interceptions on the season. Jonathan Stewart is out for this week’s game so it will be Fozzy Whittaker’s team on the ground. Whittaker has 113 rushing yards on 19 carries for the season. Kelvin Benjamin leads the team with 13 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers defense may have given up 27 points last week so is still one of the best units in the NFL. This is a chance for Carolina to show what they can do against a weakened Minnesota attack.
