Giants vs. Saints: Date, Kickoff Time, TV Channel & Preview

It was a very interesting Week 1 for both the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. Both teams were involved in one-point games which the Saints losing their home game and the Giants winning on the road. The two teams will meet up in the Big Apple on Sunday looking to continue the same things they did in Week 1 but for New Orleans, hoping for different results while New York tries to get to 2-0 early on in the season. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Saints lost 35-34 to the Oakland Raiders when Oakland decided to go for a two-point conversion late in the game. It was a hard loss to handle after Drew Brees threw for 423 yards and four touchdowns. Brees isn’t slowing down anytime soon and could light up this Giants defense on the road. Willie Snead had nine catches for 173 yards and a touchdown while Brandin Cooks had six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. While the run game didn’t do much in the Week 1 shootout, Mark Ingram is going to need to have a better game for the Saints to pull this one out.

The Giants were able to sneak out a 20-19 win against the Dallas Cowboys. It was an important road win to begin the season, especially against their division rivals. Eli Manning threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns and considering how bad the Saints’ pass defense was in Week 1, Manning could be in line for a huge game this week. Odell Beckham had four catches for 73 yards and is still Manning’s favorite target. The defense played well against a rookie quarterback in Week 1 but now faces a much different animal with Brees. The battle between the Giants’ defense and Brees is the story of this game.
