Cowboys vs. Redskins: Date, Kickoff Time, TV Channel & Preview

There is a long and checkered history between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. The two teams will continue their long NFC East rivalry on Sunday afternoon in the nation’s capital with the teams both looking to rebound for losses to begin their season. There is a rookie quarterback in Dallas and Washington has to be hoping that their defense can play much, much better than they did in their opener. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Cowboys lost 20-19 last week to the New York Giants and now hit the road trying to find that first win of the season. Dak Prescott was good in his debut with 227 yards passing without turning the ball over while Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown. The two rookies are going to need to hold the offense up until Tony Romo returns at some point this season. The defense played a good game against the Giants but have to be even better this week especially on the road if they are going to avoid going to 0-2 for the season.

The Redskins got hammered 38-16 at home by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. It was a game that the team would love to forget about as soon as possible. Kirk Cousins passed for 329 yards but had two interceptions. The turnovers are what will kill Washington as the season goes on and the fact that the Redskins only rushed 12 times the whole night. Matt Jones had a whole seven carries for 24 yards. Defensively, the Pittsburgh pass game dominated the Washington secondary. It should be easier this week but the Redskins need to find a way to get a win in this very winnable game.
