Vikings vs. Titans: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

It was a dream season in 2015 for the Minnesota Vikings and a building year for the Tennessee Titans. As the 2016 season gets underway on Sunday with the two teams facing each other, it is a completely different story now. The Vikings lost Teddy Bridgewater to a serious knee injury and the Titans are hoping that Marcus Mariota can take the next step forward as an NFL quarterback. Here is a look at the matchup.

Minnesota went 11-5 last season with Bridgewater under center. With him now out for the season, it is going to be up to Adrian Peterson to hold up the whole offense with the newly-acquired Sam Bradford and Shaun Hill handling the quarterback duties. It is going to be a tough road ahead for the Vikings without Bradford. Even with a very strong defense, they may need the d-line to be the best in the NFL to have a chance to make the playoffs again. This is going to be a very important game to see what the expectations should be for the Vikings this year.

Tennessee went 3-13 last season and traded down to get more draft picks since they didn’t need to select another quarterback. Mariota began to show some promise as the season ended last year and with DeMarco Murray now in the backfield along with Derrick Henry, there will be less pressure on Mariota to carry the whole team. The defense had a ton of problems last season and if the Titans want to get out of the basement of the AFC South, things will have to change in a big way. Tennessee needs to see some promise from Mariota and the offense in this game.
