Jason Momoa is a mammoth actor who you’ll most likely recognize as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. But that’s not his only badass role, as he played the title character in 2011’s Conan The Barbarian, and Aquaman in this year’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. While all of that is pretty cool, it all pales in comparison to his latest accomplishment: Guinness just made the actor his very own beer label.
While Momoa was in Dublin he toured the Guinness headquarters with Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, where he was presented with the Mano Brew, which comes in a bottle emblazoned with the actor’s signature. I’m sure he’d rather have the throne, but his own beer a pretty sweet consolation prize.
The future availability of the Momoa beer remains unclear and honestly, who know if you’ll ever actually find a 6-pack of these bad boys in your local liquor store. But nothing is more on-brand for COED than a story about beer and Game of Thrones, so I decided this deserved a post.
Good for Momoa, but does a guy who left Game of Thrones after the first damn season really deserve his own beer? If the actor who played Khal Drogo can get a beer named after him than why can’t a guy who’s cranking out Game of Thrones articles on the internet on his Friday nights get one too? Hook up your boy, Guinness.
