‘I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream’ is a Taylor Swift lyric. It’s also an apt way to describe IKEA, which seems great until you realize you have to somehow find your way through what is basically a giant maze to get out. And similar to what he said about Taylor Swift in his song Famous, Kanye West says he hopes to one day f**k with IKEA.
As Mashable writes,
In a new interview with the BBC, West expressed just how important it was for him to design for Ikea. “I have to work with Ikea, make furniture for interior design, for architecture,” he told BBC Radio 1.
What he’s most interested in? Creating “a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm.”
“Yo Ikea, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes.”
I’m pretty sure that the average college student doesn’t need too much help if they want to design their dorm room in a minimalist fashion. But then again, Kanye did design the highest-selling sneakers of all-time, so I should probably just shut my mouth.
If IKEA lets Kanye into the dorm-room design business they should have him also help you install the furniture, since that’s really the only concern of any college student who’s getting their things for their dorm at IKEA. A table is easy, but trying to put together one of those beds can be an absolute disaster. And Kanye even said, while telling the lengthy story of how he got signed on the song Last Call from his first album, “You know, we went to Ikea, I bought a bed, I put the bed together myself.”
Anyway, we’ll have to wait and see if Kanye starts designing for IKEA. Now for this comedy bit explaining why that place is actually Swedish hell.
