The 2016 Summer Olympics are right around the corner, so let’s take a few minutes to get to know U.S. Olympic indoor volleyball player Kayla Banwarth. Kayla is a 5’10” libero from Dubuque, Iowa, who played her college ball at the University of Nebraska. Kayla has been on the U.S. National team since 2011, and she’s racked up four medals in international competition. She won bronze at the 2011 Pan American Games, gold at the 2014 FIVB World Championship, gold at the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix, and silver at the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix.
Kayla will now turn her focus to the biggest stage of them all, as she was selected to be a member of the U.S. Olympic team. It will be the 27-year-old’s first Olympic appearance, and she will be the only libero on the roster. Let’s do our part in wishing Kayla good luck in Rio by taking a look at 22 of Kayla’s hottest photos.
