With the Summer Olympics rapidly approaching, we figured it would be a great time to get familiar with U.S. Olympic swimmer Maya DiRado. The Santa Rosa, California native specializes in the freestyle, butterfly, and medley strokes, and she is coming off a huge victory. On Sunday, June 26, Maya won the 400-meter individual medley at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials to punch her ticket to Rio.
This will be the 23-year-old’s first and last Olympic appearance, as she’s leaving the world of competitive swimming after Rio. Maya graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Management Science and Engineering, and she will be starting a job at global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in September. Hopefully, Maya will end her swimming career on a high note and continue to rock bathing suits on social media.
Bonus: Here’s a Vine of Maya having some fun in the sun.
