The U.S. Olympic Trials for swimming are currently in full swing, so let’s take a look at Olympic hopeful Olivia Smoliga. The Glenview, Illinois native specializes in the backstroke and freestyle, and she swims for the U.S. National team and the University of Georgia. Olivia took home 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal at the 2012 FINA Short Course World Championships, and she won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games.
Olivia came up a bit short in qualifying for the U.S. Olympic team in 2012, but she looks primed to make the roster this time around. The 21-year-old had the fastest time in both the preliminary and semifinal rounds in the 100-meter backstroke. If she can finish in the top 2 in the finals on Tuesday night, she’ll punch her ticket to Rio.
I’ll most definitely be rooting for her. Olivia is so gorgeous that I honestly think she’d throw the swimmers from other countries completely off their games. They’d fall into a trance and sink to the bottom of the pool in a total stupor like when Frank the Tank took a dart to the jugular. Don’t believe me? Take a look at 22 of Olivia’s hottest photos, and then fax me an apology letter.
