The National Enquirer just unleashed a MAJOR bombshell on Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign — the magazine alleged that the GOP presidential hopeful has had five extramarital affairs with various power women in the political scene.
So who are these women? Well, according to Twitter detectives, here are their names, from right to left: Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson, former Carly Fiorina staffer Sarah Isgur Flores, and former Cruz communications director Amanda Carpenter. Carpenter is married, while Flores and Pierson are not.
Here’s everything you need to know about the women in the middle of this alleged scandal.
Sarah Isgur Flores
Flores served as Carly Fiorina’s deputy campaign manager during her unsuccessful 2016 run for President. According to The Washington Post, a Ted Cruz-affiliated Super PAC, Keep the Promise I donated $500k to Fiorina’s campaign fund in July 2015, an interesting move considering she was one of his many rivals. Since the Enquirer’s allegations, Twitter has suspected that the donation was actually hush money to keep her quiet about the affair.
However, since Fiorina’s taken herself out of the race, she has endorsed Ted Cruz for president. This is all heresy, but it’s definitely an interesting theory.
Katrina Pierson is a spokesperson for Donald Trump. If the allegations are true, this would be a very interesting twist to the story, especially considering her recent Twitter comments:
Cruz and Pierson had worked together in the past when she challenged incumbent Republican Representative Pete Sessions’s seat and was unsuccessful in gaining the nomination. However, the Cruz family praised her highly, calling her a “strict constitutionalist.”
Amanda Carpenter is a former Ted Cruz communications director and CNN contributor, who previously worked with The Washington Times. In 2013 Carpenter became the communications director for future presidential candidate Ted Cruz, but left the position in July 2015.
