President's Day 2016 Memes: Funny Photos, Best Jokes & Images

President’s Day is more than just a reason to have off of work and school. It’s more than just a day spent chugging pitchers of cheap beer and eating wings. It’s more than just those holiday sales where you can literally buy anything you want for half the cost. While all of those things are awesome, you should probably know what you’re celebrating before you actually go off and celebrate.
Here’s what you need to know:

What is President’s Day?

An American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. It was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington and is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. According to History.com, the holiday was traditionally celebrated on February 22 – Washington’s actual birthday – and became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act. The act was an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present.
Don’t you just feel smarter? Ok, now go chug that pitcher.
