David Bowie just released Blackstar, his first album in three years and his 28th studio album overall. The man formerly known as Ziggy Stardust has gotten older and wiser in his years, and ditched the pop sounds instead delving into a sound that The Guardian calls “electro-acoustic jazz.”
The release of Blackstar also falls on the same day as Bowie’s birthday. The White Duke is now 69 years old.

Is Blackstar the best new album of 2016? Probably. But keep in mind that we’re only eight days into the year. Blackstar‘s not bad by any means, but it’s just not our cup of tea.
