The New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration in Sydney Harbor, Australia is known globally–not just for being among the first celebrations here on Earth, but also for being some of the best. [lead image by Ryan Pierse/Getty Images]
Since their construction, the city has incorporated the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera House into the spectacle, known as the “Harbor of Light.” It’s being reported that this year there were 500,000 people in attendance for the fireworks show that costs around $32K/minute.
