Hulk Hogan Calls Out Obama on Twitter For Using Racial Slurs

Hulk Hogan has got himself into a pile of sh*t these past few days. After a racist rant surfaced on the Internet and his contract with the WWE was terminated Friday afternoon, Hogan has dismayed his PR team and continues to soak up the limelight, especially on Twitter.

On Friday, the famous wrestler issued a statement to People.com, apologizing for his actions:

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it,” Hogan said in a statement exclusively to PEOPLE. The transcript featuring that conversation was published online by the National Enquirer.

This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.”

Sounds relatively sincere. But then, after a long spiel about God only giving the world’s hardest challenges to bandana-loving wrestlers, he retweeted this:

So much for that apology!

President Obama did use the N-word in a recent discussion with Marc Maron, who was doing an episode on race relations for his podcast “WTF.” However, the context was totally different and defintiely not hateful:

“Racism, we are not cured of it. And it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say [the N word] in public. That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t overnight completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”

A bit different than calling out your daughter’s boyfriend and admitting that you’re racist, brother.

Despite the controversy, the legendary athlete has received an overwhelming amount of support from fans, as he explained in lyrical tweet language throughout the weekend:

We’re just wondering how much more of a sh*tshow this can turn into. Fingers crossed!
