Australian Man Wins The Rubik’s Cube World Championship, Has a Lot of Time on His Hands

The Rubik’s Cube World Championship was held in Sao Paulo this past weekend and Australian man Feliks Zemdegs took home the title for the second time, beating that insanely annoying cube in 5.695 seconds. Considering our childhood consisted of constantly trying to figure this thing out and never, ever coming close, we’re highly impressed.

After his big win, Zemdegs explained, “Because I won last time, I was sort of less nervous this time … so that sort of helped a little bit.”

The current world record is held by Collin Burns, who solved the puzzle in 5.25 seconds earlier this year.
