Deflategate Football Sold At Auction: Price, Details

Deflategate Football Auction

There are many famous footballs floating around at auction houses or on people’s mantles. However, the biggest current famous football is from the “Deflategate” game. That ball went out for auction recently and on Saturday morning was sold for $43,740 according to ESPN. It is definitely a big souvenir and a memorabilia item for the ages.

While the footballs were re-inflated at halftime of the game, it is the still the same football that was deflated during the first half of the New England Patriots’ 45-7 win over the Colts. It is not surprising that a lot of people wanted that football however. There is simply too much history already with it and especially since the Patriots would go on to the win the Super Bowl.

The football was sold at Lelands.com by Laura Nichols who was given the ball by Brandon LaFell after LaGarette Blount scored a touchdown.

There is going to be a time where the NFL makes sure that teams don’t get their hands on the footballs before games and makes sure that every ball is inflated correctly so this may be the last chance to get a “deflated” football on the open market. It will be a matter of time before it is discovered whether or not the Patriots can win at home without possibly deflated footballs.
