Alex Rodriguez Will Be Full-Time New York Yankees DH In 2015

The New York Yankees worked their way through the 2014 season without having the suspended Alex Rodriguez. When the 2015 season opens, the team will have a new job for Rodriguez as general manager Brian Cashman said Tuesday that Rodriguez will be the team’s full-time designated hitter. A-Rod will be 40 years old in July, and Cashman added that “even before the suspension, he wasn’t the same player at third base on the defensive or offensive side.” It is clear that the team would just like Rodriguez to sit on the bench all game long and then show up for a couple minutes four times a night just to fill the lineup out.

It’s not even a certainty that Rodriguez plays every day with Martin Prado on the roster as well. It is one of those things where the end of Rodriguez’s career is coming sooner than later and the year-long suspension didn’t help matters. Cashman is still telling it how it is and that makes A-Rod can just sit around and watch baseball a lot in 2015 instead of playing in the field.
