Zack Snyder Teases the Fans with A Shot of The New Batmobile

There’s a ton of speculation about the big comic book team-up movie Batman vs. Superman but Zack Snyder looks like he’s about to put one of those rumors to rest. He teased his Twitter followers with a shot of what appears to be the new Batmobile.

Snyder posted a black and white shot of what looks like Batman’s new ride for his upcoming movie. The car is partially covered with a tarp and Snyder asked his Twitter followers if it “Could be time to pull the tap…tomorrow?”. Naturally, the picture is already making its way around the web as comic book fans start an endless series of scrutiny about how the car will look and if it will live up the high standard set by the custom built Batmobile made for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Of course, we’re never above making such speculation especially when it comes to building great movie cars.

Nolan tackled a serious challenge when he remade the Batman story after the dismal, downward spiral that led to the release of Batman & Robin. He had to rebuild a movie franchise that many thought was done to death but he did just that by revamping almost everything about the Batman legacy including its famous car. Snyder seems to be aiming for a middle ground approach with his movie car’s design that borrows the massive rear wheels and hulking chassis from the Dark Knight car mixed with the racer-style body of the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. Going with the best of both worlds is a safe bet and chances are it will look just as cool all the Batmobiles. Besides, you’d have to really go out of your way to screw up such an iconic car. You could build one out of the parts of a Ford Pinto and chances are good that it would still make the gearheads drool buckets.
